The Sacramento Public Library started a “Library of Things” last year, allowing patrons to check out, among other things, sewing machines and other items that patrons may find useful, but don’t need to own long-term.

Best visual representation of functional depression I’ve ever seen. You go to work, do the things that people expect you to do, then come home and just… blank out. Microwave is your best friend. Cleaning makes no sense. Drinking helps a little, sometimes. Every evening is the same. Nothing ever changes except the amout of trash waiting to be thrown out.
This is why I loved Fraction’s Barton. Clint’s very visible depression gave me a hook that I could suddenly relate to. I’ve been where Clint was. It sucked. But seeing Clint keep going kind of gave me hope.

The original buyer decided to cancel his order at the last moment, so I now have three pet crates that I do not need. I am praying that there is a lovely fandom person here on tumblr that is looking for a one-of-a-kind geeky crate for their kitty.
The crates have never been used, were painted with non-toxic paint, and feature the corresponding colors and patches from the original Star Trek series.
I really do need to get rid of these crates guys. We’ll be moving soon and I already made my own marvel crates for my kitties Thor and Loki.

here is the link for the Slate article, where the USCIS director is quoted, “What we’re looking at, when you boil it all down, is potentially a few thousand cases” – and this even though there have only been about 300 denaturalization cases since 1990
here is further background from The New Yorker: “Historically, denaturalization has been an exceedingly rare occurrence, for good reason: by the time a person is naturalized, she has lived in this country for a number of years and has passed the hurdles of obtaining entry, legal permanent residency, and, finally, citizenship. The conceit of naturalization is that it makes an immigrant not only equal to natural-born citizens but indistinguishable from them. So denaturalization, much like the process of stripping a natural-born American of citizenship, has been an extraordinary procedure reserved for very serious cases, mostly those of war criminals.”
