me: stop comparing movies and comics!!!! not everything that happens in comics needs to be in the movies, they are different media and should be appreciated as such as long as the characters are respected!
also me: if this exact shot does not happen in mcu canon

i’m going to kiLL EVERYONE AT MARVEL AND THEN MYSELF

Trying to explain X-Men history to a friend, like:

Okay, I understand that you’re confused about what the Green Goblin has to do with Cyclops running a communist dictatorship off of Alcatraz, but…  if I say the words “evil alternate universe Beast” and “Atlantis” will you just trust that the explanation is not worth it at this stage?

The history of X-men is a wild roller coaster ride of a thing

Just so you’re all aware

There are two living X-men from the past, living in the present day right now whose present day selves are dead…they can’t go back to the past so if they age they are one day gonna be older than the versions of themselves from the present who  died

There is also an older version of Wolverine from a parallel universe dystopian future where he’s an old man living in the present while in the present Wolverine actually died many many years before he ever could reach that age which means that future should logically no longer exist but here we are

Here’s a challenge for you: explain the Summers family history. Keep a straight face at all times.

Including how at one point we thought there was a Third Summers Brother named Adam X The X-Treme but we later learned that the third brother was in fact a guy Xavier had gotten killed, erased from everyone’s memories and was now living in outer space having sex with bird women and trying to become a ruthless dictator

Even further. The Old Wolverine from a parallel universe is living in the present and staying with a younger female clone of his younger self. She is younger than any any children he’s had, had they lived. She’s also living with a clone of herself.

Oh, and she just broke up with an X-Man who is stuck in the present while his modern day counterpart regularly teeters between braindead and full dead.

Also, they’re all dying of a disease. No, not that disease in the 90s that was a metaphor for AIDS. This disease makes them all sterile and is partly a metaphor for xenophobia. And you know why? Because Fox won’t let Marvel have the movie rights back.

A small correction here, Laura is living with MULTIPLE clones of herself they are literally basically a superhero team of Wolverine clones which feels like someone took a joke about how Wolverine is in every book ever and ran with it but decided to play it straight

Also Older! Wolverine is spending a worrying amount of time hanging around the barely legal past version of the woman he was obsessed with to an almost stalker like degree as an adult and I don’t know what that is but I can tell you what it’s not: HEALTHY

*points dramatically* CORRECTION! Laura’s only living with her tiny clone Gabby (who’s adorbs). The white haired clone was working for Kimura the whole time, so that’s a downer. The other one just plain died, which is a bummer.

I didn’t know this and now I am hella sad about these developments ;_;

X men is so convoluted that it would only work in non-comic form as a musical set to the format of vines and YouTube videos.
