Guy wanted me to make him a queen-size blanket.

I try, as a rule, not to reblog garbage fires. But there is something about this garbage fire that made me break that rule.

Something fibercraft people understand about the value of their time.

As a freelance artist, I come up against the same thing over and over again. People give me specs, I give them a quote, they turn around and say they want it for 1/8th of that, and in 5 days instead of 3 weeks. Head-desking ensues.

I remember being asked to do a full set of Persians, with a personalized block printed layer (including carving the block) for $100. Like my dude, no. That’s minimum four items of clothing (plus headwear), carving a stamp, and then doing the stamping. The fabric alone is going to run $150+ and my time (150 hrs easy) has value. She said she’d just buy it off Etsy when I quoted her $400.

My Amica insurance schemed to steal my car (and I fell for it) so now I have to get a new car. Right after the house. I love being an adult!

On the plus side, vw has clearly gone ALL IN for bi visibility day this past weekend

An unstoppable force

and an immovable object meet

but they are holding hands

.

An unstoppable force

and an immovable object

go grocery shopping,

and the unstoppable force

gets the eggs and milk

while the immovable object

feels up avocados and peaches

in the produce section

.

The unstoppable force

and the immovable object

take turns being unstoppable

and immovable,

take turns being forces

and objects and girls,

take turns behind the wheel

on long drives

.

The unstoppable force

makes the best hummus

and the immovable object

makes the best meringues

Their lives are filled

with little cookie crumbs

and dishes left till morning

.

The unstoppable force

and the immovable object meet,

and they call it impossible,

they call it inevitable,

they call it nothing

because it just is

It’s a hypothetical until it’s not

It’s a frictionless sphere

in a perfect vacuum, but

then how can I hear you

turning in the night?

.

A unstoppable force

and an immovable object meet

and they say, you.

I will move for you.

I will move the earth

for you.

As I am still unemployed, I am opening handknit doll commissions! Prices start at $70 and go up depending on design time, accessories, and complication of costuming. Anything I’ve already done (see photos above) is available for the $70 rate, though colors may vary a bit. No complicated mecha, but furries/anthro are fine. If I’m not familiar with the character, you’ll need to provide reference photos. I can also do OC’s with a detailed description.

All dolls are handmade with wool or wool blends, are handwash only, and come with plastic safety eyes (masked characters may be an exception). Dolls measure 6″-8″ tall. To request a commission or a rate quote, please send me an ask or a message. Purchases will be though Etsy – I will set up a custom listing on my Etsy for you. Examples of my other work is available on my Ravelry page.
